So, we thought we’d self indulge a little and tell you about the story so far.
(not that any level of experience can prepare you for a pandemic)
But, despite all the challenges, when we step back and look at what we’ve done over the last 2 years it’s actually pretty mad and we couldn’t be prouder of the team and what we’ve achieved.
It started because we were genuinely frustrated at the lack options in the pub when we weren’t drinking and we felt that we had to challenge the status quo to change the way people drank. That begins with the product and after 400 trial recipes we actually invented a new way of making beer (!!🤯!!). Our blending approach was totally innovative but it was validated by August that year when we won a World Beer Award for the best low alcohol beer in the UK.

We started selling in London (check out the first 50 stockists on the Freestar Summer of ’19 Tee we made to celebrate them) and then swiftly won some supermarket listings. @sainsburys and @ocadouk have been amazing champions of the brand for well over a year now and we’re hugely proud to have Freestar on @farmdrop and in @planetorganic too.
In 2020 we put the lockdown time to use to pimp our brand identity and become the world's first alcohol free beer to certify as a B Corp.
The team is now growing, we got our first office and now hospitality is back open we’ve got big plans and bigger ambitions. We’re lucky enough to be a small business that has survived the pandemic and now it’s time to kick on.
